DLP4500: Obsolescence of the device?

Hi,

I am developping a device that will include a DMD and I am thinking of using the DLP4500. I noticed that it is a rather old design (it's basically a DLP3000 with an extended active area) and thus wondering whether there are already plans of obsolescence for this device (as there was for the DLP3000).

Hi Charlie,
Thank you for your interest in DLP technology. The DLP4500 DMD will continue to be in production and there is no plan to end of life in foreseeable future.

Hi Charlie,
As mentioned earlier, DLP4500 DMD is in production and there is no plan to discontinue.
TI standard practice is that once a decision has been taken to discontinue a device,TI allows 12 months for the last order and an additional six months to take final delivery of obsolete items.
