DLPC900: DMD6500 does not display

Part Number: DLPC900
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65145

HI

Now  DLPC900 is working, dmd6500 is not working yet.

I can be sure that there is no problem with the electrical connection of the power supply ,so i measured the power of the DMD , VOFSET = 1.41V     VRSET = 0V     VBIAS = 0V   VCC = 3.3V ,DMD mount whether or not the result is the same.

I experiment on EVM, do not mount DMD:  VOFSET = 2.96V     VRSET = 0V     VBIAS = 0V   VCC = 3.3V,   mount DMD: VOFSET = 8.54V     VRSET = -9.95V     VBIAS = 15.91V   VCC = 3.3V.

So what should I do next? Look forward to your advice.

  • Additional explanation:

    DMD power supply VCC = 3.3V

    Input:

    PWRDNZ = 3.3V

    RSTZ = 3.3V

    Output:

    EN_OFFSET = 0       TPS65145 is not enabled.

    Which signal or sequence should I check next?

  • Byron,

    First, if no DMD is attached, the voltages will not be correct, since they are provided internally from the DMD.

    The rail voltages you list when the DMD is attached are within spec for the DLP6500, but I am confused, because you indicate that the TPS65145 is not enabled. I am not sure you that works. Please let me know if it is enable when the DMD is attached.

    My question is: DMD has been attached, VCC = 3.3V, PWRDNZ = 3.3VRSTZ = 3.3V, but enable is not output.

    Which signal or sequence should I check next?
  • Byron,

    I understand your question, but need a little time to dig into where to go next. I am targeting Thursday for an update.

  • Fizix:

    FPC connection leads to the present problem.

    I re-chose the FPC connector and I'm going to use Amphenol's products, but we have no experience with FPC PCB design. DLP6500EVM FPC PCB design can share with me? This part we need to design and manufacture.

  • Byron,

    We cannot share Amphenol's design with you since it belongs to them, but there are other options available. Panasonic makes connectors and cables that have been used by other customers.

    You do not have to design it the same way, all that is required is the preservation of the LVDS signal integrity to the DMD board.
