DLPNIRNANOEVM: Firmware Update, Trouble with TIVA Drivers

Part Number: DLPNIRNANOEVM

Dear Colleagues

Is there a known problem with Win XP and the TIVA driver utilities?

Error message: USBLiBDFUDeviceClass (02/07/2014 2.1.0.12573

I tried with setting ignore driver signing  however still the error occured. Apparently rest of the software gets installed and running, however  the firmware of the FLPNIRNANO may not be updated. The GUI software crashes. Is this an actual problem or have I been mistaken somehow?

Thank you for your support

Best Regards
Janosch

  • Hi Janosch,

Thanks for your question and welcome do the DLP forums. I'll ask around and see if this is a known issue. I'd like to confirm that you're using the most current SW and GUI - 2.0.2, available online. If you're not, could you update and see if the issue persists?

    Thanks,
    Paul
  • Hi Janosch,

This is not a problem we have experienced at this point and we are constantly installing and re-installing our software on our machines. If the problem is a missing driver or outdated driver, you might try installing the latest one from here: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html, You're looking for SW-TM4C-USBL-2.1.3.156.exe.

If you install and run that, let me know if that fixes your issue.

  • Dear Paul,

thank you very much for your quick support. I installed the provided driver. In the meantime I think I have to refine the problem I am facing. I reinstalled the NanoGUI. During the end of the installation of the NanoGUI setup is switching to the installation of the TIVA device firmware upgrdae driver. However then an error message occurs (at WinXP) or (at Win7) it just hangs in a loop for a long time and at some time just leaps to the end of the installation. This occured on inital installation and now again during reinstallation. Is there another possible fix to this.

Or is there another possibilty to update the firmware - not going via the NanoGUI?

    Thank you and best Regards

    Janosch

  • Hi Janosch,

Did installing the provided driver fix or change anything? Have you tried installing the GUI with as an administrator? It almost sounds like it can't install the driver. We've installed the GUI on many machines (XP, 7, 10) and haven't had any issues like this, but we always install as administrator.

  • Hi Paul,

thank you for the hints. Well I did try installing as admin. On the so far mentioned machine it still  did not work. However  I tried installing and running on another laptop and now the gui AND firmware updater were installed and executed succesfully.

Thank you very much for your help

  • Janosch,

Glad you got it working on at least one computer and apologies on the issue you're seeing on the other! Let us know if you have any other questions.
