Linux: NIRScan Nanoi GUI v2.02 won't update DLPC150 Firware

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC150

Tool/software: Linux

Dear community members,

After installation of the 4 software components, I have a version mismatch with the DLPC 150 Firware. I am trying to update by selecting the file located in C:\ti\DLPR150PROM_2.0.0.img

However, the "update" button of the software won't work.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Frederic,

When you say the update button "won't work" can you describe a little further what happens? Are you getting an error? Or nothing happens when you click it?

    Thanks,
    Paul
  • Hi Paul. Nothing happens when the button is pushed. Other applications can run in the meantime, so not a RAM issue.

    Many thanks for your help!

  • Frederic,

That's really strange and not something that I've seen before. What OS are you attempting to use this on? Have you tried installing it on a Windows computer or virtual machine to see if it works there? I'll have to confirm, but I believe at this time Linux and Mac are not supported platforms for this GUI.

Another thing to try would be uninstalling and re-installing all the SW.

Let me know your results once you try it on Win7 device.

    Thanks,
    Paul
  • Hi Paul,

I tried on W7, but still cannot make it work. I installed in this order:
    ccs_7.1
    Qt MinGW 4.9.2
    DLPNIRscanNanoGUI-2.0.2
    DLPNIRscanNanoSoftware-2.0.1
    DLPSpectrumLibrary-2.0.2
    DLPR150PROM-2.0.0

When the device is plugged, a version mismatch is detected (DLPC Flash Version 1.0). When trying to update the DLPC150 Firmware using "
    C:/ti/DLPR150PROM_2.0.0/DLPR150PROM_2.0.0.img"

    1. Pressing the UPDATE button won't work
    2. Very often, the the DLP NIRscan Nano GUI software will crash, giving the following reasons:

    Description:
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Users\fkosmowski\AppData\Local\Temp\WERCC95.tmp.appcompat.txt
    C:\Users\fkosmowski\AppData\Local\Temp\WERD34A.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
    C:\Users\fkosmowski\AppData\Local\Temp\WER2023.tmp.hdmp
    C:\Users\fkosmowski\AppData\Local\Temp\WER2BB8.tmp.xml

    Thanks for your insights
    Frederic
  • Hi Frederic,

Can you accept my friend request and then send me the files that describe the problem?

    A couple more questions:
    * Why are you installing CCS and Qt along with the GUI?
    * Do you select the option to "use the precompiled spectrum library" when installing the GUI?

    Thanks,
    Paul
