Looking for App to analyze and report ground water parameters

Polish Environmental Protection Ministry is working on a project to collect certain water quality data (i.e. temperature, clarity, ph, levels of nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, etc.) in various ground water locations around Poland (about 2k sampling points).  Preliminary plan calls for a use of NIRscan Nano enclosed in a buoy.  We are looking for an App that would collect data gathered from the many mentioned points, analyze, compare to patterns, report etc.  A lot of details haven't been worked out yet.

Is software for water analysis available somewhere already?  I am not very technical, but would greatly appreciate any help in pointing me in the right direction to continue my research.

Thanks very much,

Anna

  • Hi Anna,
Thank you for your interest in DLP technology. The DLP NIRscan Nano is an evaluation module (EVM) for portable near-infrared spectroscopy application. It allows you to scan samples and capture spectrum data. It does not come with any application software or application.

You need to contact spectroscopy tool and solution providers for water analysis software/apps. Some of solution providers are AnalyzeIQ (https://www.analyzeiq.com/), Sagitto (https://cloud.sagitto.com/) and Camo (http://www.camo.com/).

  • Hi Anna
I think it will be a challenge to measure many of those water quality parameters with the Nirscan Nano .. or any other NIR instrument in the 900-1700 wavelength range. Have you done any laboratory experiments with it?
Happy to discuss further if you wish
    Kind regards
    George
  • Hi George,

Thanks ever so much for responding.

I only recently got involved in the project, in more project rep for the US rather than technical capacity.  No, we haven’t done any lab testing. Not sure how it was determined that NIRscan Nano can be used for the application.  Would love to chat, is this forum the right place?

Questions: if not this spectrometer than which one? What wavelength?  Still looking for an app to collect and analyze data.

    Again, thanks so much.

    Anna

  • Perhaps we could talk off-line. My email is george.hill@sagitto.com
  • Many thanks, Vivek. I contacted the vendors you’ve suggested.

In the mean time I am curious if anyone evaluated NIRscan Nano for water parameters.  Can dlp NIRscan be even used for such an application?

Parameters that we are interested to measure are:

    -temperature

    -turbidity

    -water discoloration(?)

    -ph (acidity)

    -electrical conductivity

    -O2

    -general hardness

    -silica

    -nitrogen

    -calcium

    -phosphorus

Thanks again for any input that would point me in a right direction.

  • Anna,
DLPNIRScan Nano EVM supports wavelength from 900 nm to 1700 nm and has Signal to Noise ration (SNR) 6000:1. If NIR spectroscopy can be use to detect/measure will depend the absorption values in the above wavelength range at target concentration. Some of these measures could be very challenging in NIR wavelength.
You will see a request to connect from me. Lets discuss in details your requirements off-line.
    Regards,
    Vivek
