DLPNIRNANOEVM: DLPC FW ver 0.0.0

Hello!

I have been getting this intermittent error with our evaluation module for a while now but just recently turned into a persistent issue, when I connect the device to power it turns the green light and the yellow one as well and I can't scan anything.

When I connect the device to the computer it shows DLPC FW Version 0.0.0

There is another thread here about the same issue, wanted to know if anyone is experiencing the same problem and what are the options to get this fixed.

I tried different power sources, firmware upgrades and nothing works.

    Welcome to the E2E forums, and thanks for your interest in our DLP technology. It sounds like the firmware you have installed on your system is correct, but it isn't being detected by your system. Have you tried:

    > Reinstalling the GUI software/drivers on the PC side?
    > Using a different PC and reproducing the above results?
    > Using a different USB cable

    If your system was working at a point, you likely are simply having faulty hardware somewhere in the communication path. I hope this helps.

    Thanks for your prompt answer.

    The EVM connects via Bluetooth, downloads data, and everything, the problem I'm having is that the device is not scanning anymore. Furthermore, I didn't make any modifications to the firmware or settings before the problem occurred.

    Could this be a lamp issue?

    I was only able to reproduce this issue by loading incompatible firmware to the system. Loading the firmware available on TI.com worked and restored functionality.

    Have you tried loading this on Windows 7 instead of Windows 10? I am aware of some issues customers have had using Windows 10 with the LightCrafter 4500 EVM GUI firmware load process, so it is possible these issues also translate to the NIRscan NANO GUI as well.

    I bought a new EVM as my problem is probably related to faulty hardware.

    I will certainly give your suggestion a go and reply with the results.
