will the lightsource of lightcrafter be changed by myself?

Hello, everyone.

I have decided to purchase a lightcrafter4500 to develop some new functions such as a projection with collimator optical system.

The first question is that will the lightsource of lightcrafter/LEDs be changed?

I will change a collimator optical system for the lightcrafter. How can I do this? will it easy to be finished? I will design the collimator system by myself.

Hello Benjamin,

Yes, you should be able to replace the light source and optics of the kit. I suggest you to have a look at what is there in existing engine like different optical elements, you can then decide what things can be replaced or modified.

Sorry for answering your reply for being so late. Your answer is really helpful. I have decided to buy the DLC4500.

The Userguide says that the focus range from 0.5m to infinity. Is this true? Could the optical lens change its focus to infinity?

Hello Benjamin,

Yes, the optics can focus to infinity, you must also note that with increasing distance to projection surface the intensity starts falling drastically, note the light engine can produce fixed amount of light energy, it cannot be changed from its rated values. So theoretically if it is focused to infinity the amount of light you see on the surface is negligible and you won't be able to do much with such projected image.
