Wayne, Welcome to the DLP&MEMS E2E. First - the Nikon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 DX lens will work fine on the LightCommander. My only concern is the relative dimness of the lens when compared to the f/1.8 of the supplied 50mm lens. The crop factor really has meaning only in the context of comparing...

Hello Anthony, Are you sure that you have opened the aperture on the lens to its full open position (f/2.8)? I don't know if this lens has a manual aperture ring, or if the aperture is controlled by the camera electronically (I have no experience with this lens). However, I am sure that if it...

Anthony, Are you trying this with the R G B LEDs (white) on? Does the output from the LC look bright? Have you tried another lens - of a different focal length (the supplied 50mm f/1.8)? Is the image as bright (visually) as you would expect with that lens? Have you measured it with the photodiode...

Anthony, I do not know the answer to your question. I have not attempted to do this. I am pretty sure that the issue has to do with the NA (or angle of acceptance) of the microlenses. A spec sheet of the microlens array would be helpful. I believe that the microlens array probably expects the incoming...

Travis, Welcome to the TI DLP&MEMS E2E forum. The DLP LightCommander comes fitted with a Nikon F lens mount. This fits all standard Nikon F-mount lenses, such as the one supplied with the LightCommander kit - a 50mm f/1.8 Nikon lens. I found the following adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox...

Thank you, Stephen. That is helpful - and right on. Travis, First, I don't think that a fisheye is what you are looking for. Familiarize yourself with rectilinear vs. fisheye rendering. They are very different. Ideally, you want rectilinear rendering, with a low distortion as possible. Stephen...

Hi all, so for the LightCommander with the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens we can say that its throw ratio is 3.6, right? Best regards!
