Question about DMD compatibility

Can I use 0.3 WVGA EM 242 DMD instead of LightCrafter's DLP3000 ?

I checked pin descriptions and found only two pin's output level are different. (pin layout is totally different)

DRC_OE and LOADB of DLPC300 are active low but EM 242's are active high

1. Can I change the output characteristic of DLPC300(DRC_OE and LOADB) by changing software parameter?

2. If I can, then can DLPC300 drive 0.3 WVGA EM 242 DMD instead of DLP3000?

Sorry for wrong information.

DRC_OEZ of EM242 is also active low

and DMD uses both rising edge and falling edge of LOADB clk

so, maybe...there is no need to change the operational level of both pins

My question is ...

Can DLPC300 controller drive 0.3 WVGA EM 242 DMD instead of DLP3000 ?

DLPC300 is optimally designed to drive DLP3000 DMD. I do not recommend operating 0.3 WVGA EM 242 DMD with the same controller. This will also void the warranty on Lightcrafter.

hello, Divya,
i have a light engine which use the 0.3 WVGA EM 242 DMD, the light engine's diver is broke and i want to make a driver board with dlpc2607, but why can't i find any technical material about the 0.3 WVGA EM 242 DMD in TI.com? can you send the datasheet of this dmd chipset to me? thank you very much.

Hello Huayan,

The 0.3 WVGA EM 242 DMD is a custom device that is not available on ti.com and the data sheet is only provided under NDA for select applications. TI recommends that you either contact the manufacturer of the light engine for support or use the DLPC2607 EVM from a third part vendor on ti.com
