I am new to the world of DLP development, and I am doing this on my own. My background is in software development, but I fear I may be woefully innadequate when it comes to hardware development. I want to upfront say that I thank you all or any help you might be able to provide.
My first question is, where do I purchase the power cable and DVI cable for th DLP Lightcrafter?
My second question is, I have "installed" the Windows Lightcrafter GUI, but I can't find it on the start menu, and when I go to the DLP folder in the Program Files area and try to run the Lightcrafter GUI I receive the following error message: "The program can't start because mingwm10.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I did a "repair" and an uninstall and reinstall and I still receive this message.
Any help with the above issues would be greatly appreciated,

The power supply which we use is the Elementech # AU1100506u (see http://www.elementech.com/English/Products/ProductDetail.php?C=7&Type1=2&Type2=4&Type3=9&P=8) or equivalent. The connector is unusual in the US and Europe, but common in Asia, as I have heard.
The DVI cable is a HDMI A to HDMI C cable, which can be purchased in many places.
The installation of the software does not put an icon in the start menu. You must navigate to the "Program Files\Texas Instruments-DLP\DLP LightCrafter DLPLIGHTCRAFTERGUI" directory and find the file "DLPLIGHTCRAFTERGUI.zip". Unzip this file somewhere you can find it. Then you will need to unzip the file "DLPLIGHTCRAFTERGUI_WINDOWS.zip" into a directory of its own. Then you can create a link to DLPLIGHTCRAFTERGUI.exe on your desktop or start menu.
The reason for the error which you saw is because you had not unzipped the files into a directory and were trying to run them from inside the zip file.

Yes. This is the correct link and power adapter. On the Elementech site, there are many different models, with different model numbers. But they conform to a code, or pattern. The one we use, the AU1100506u, fits within the AU1wwyyy6u code, which is explained on their website.

I have searched using google and yahoo and I don't find anyone selling that model. Do you sell them at TI?
I am also a little confused because if I use Elementech's model number scheme I get an output power of 10 (either 10.0 or 1.0 not sure), an output voltage of 5.0 Volts and the pwoer adapter has a maximum output amperage of 1.0 amps, however the Lightcrafter user guide says that the Lightcrafter needs an input amperage of 2.0 - 3.0 Amps, well above the maximum output voltage of the power supply indicated above. Perhaps I am missing something?

I was able to find a 5V 2A power supply with the correct connector at Radio Shack.
However, now the unit won't turn on. I plug the power supply in and push the on/off button and nothing happens. I even tried holding the button down, but nothing happens.

I apparently had it plugged into UART plug, which is happened to perfectly fit into. I'm a moron.
My question now is, is there an ability to turn on a single pixel? I am brand new to this so please forgive me for such simple questions.
I will keep searching through the knowledge base while waiting for some help.

The short answer is "yes, you can turn on a single pixel". The long answer is this: you have to construct frame patterns to control all of the pixels. The DMD is loaded with frame data for each successive frame - both in video mode and in structured light mode (which has a number of features distinct from the video mode). So, the way that you control a single pixel is to control all of the pixels. In practice this means constructing the patterns (structured light) or video frames (video) to set/unset each pixel in each frame, as desired.

Glad you got it going. Note to others: make sure that you plug the power cord into the connector on the second level card - not the top level, which is the UART. Doesn't work, as Tyler discovered.
