Hi,all

I'm having problems trying to interface my PandaBoard ES with the LCR4500 through J1, J3, J4, and J6 connectors. When I run DLPLCR4500GUI, the demo application, in the PandaBoard with ubuntu 12.04 operation system, the connection can not be established and the red indicator in the GUI was alight.

I'm wondering whether the GUI demo only uses USB to connect with the PandaBoard, because when I uses the USB cable to connect them, there is no any problem. Is there any example code or something to verify whether my PandaBoard ES is connecting with LCR4500 through J1, J3, J4, and J6 connectors.

By the way, I have not removed resistor R152 on my PandaBoard ES.

Hello Flanker,

The GUI demo code needs additional changes to make it run on Panda Board. GUI code is written to compile and run on PC environment.

The GUI doesn't have functionality relating to USB enumeration that activity should be done by OMAP4 on PandBoard, have a look at the http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu011b/dlpu011b.pdf, section 6.1.1 DLP LightCrafter 4500 to PandaBoard Interface.

You also need to modify the device rules discussed in this thread http://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp__mems_micro-electro-mechanical_systems/f/924/t/282672.aspx

We will plan on putting the Sample Code to for compiling & running on PandaBoard that demonstrates the basic device connection to DLP4500 via USB. It takes sometime for this to be done.

Thank you for your help, I refered to http://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp__mems_micro-electro-mechanical_systems/f/924/t/282672.aspx as well as http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/dlpu011b/dlpu011b.pdf and http://www.avrfreaks.net/wiki/index.php/Documentation:Linux/GPIO#gpio-sysfs that tell me how to drive GPIO_39 high in OMAP4, and solved my problem.

Hello Edmond,

We haven't put effort on this part lately. You can run desktop version of Ubuntu on the PadaBoard, then install Qt IDE, you should be able to compile LightCrafter 4500 GUI code on this platform.
