MBMC Request

PExT = 2000us

Pattern Bit-Depth Number of Patterns Pattern Color

  • Hello Gary,

Thank you for submitting the MBMC request. However for 8 bit depth pattern, the minimum exposure time is 8333us. You could refer to table 4.3 in the LightCrafter Users guide to get a list of minimum exposure times for different bit depth patterns.

Let me know if you would like for me to generate the MBMC sequence with a different exposure time.

    Regards

    Manasi

  • Dear Manasi

I have a MBMC request. I am trying to display the pattern below using MBMC command.

    1bppX1R_2bppX1G_3bppX1B_4bppX1G_5bppX1R_6bppX1B_7bppX1G_8bppX5B_83333ms

    Exposure time: 83333ms.

would you create a correct sequence for me please  if mine is incorrect?

and I have a question about maximum of patterns that I can use for display by MBMC.

Is there any relation or limitations?

    thank you in advance.

    Sheida

  • Hello Sheida,

I am Manasi's colleague would like to answer on her behalf.

The MBMC allows maximum exposure of 20000us or 20ms only. This is the design limitation.

So Exposure time of 83333ms not possible.

    Regards,

    Sanjeev

  • Hello Sanjeev

thank you for your quick reply and sorry for my mistake,my desired exposure time was 8333 MicroSeconds.

would you please post me a MBMC sequence with former order and Exposure time of 15ms?

    Best Regards,

    Sheida

  • Hello Sheida,

I am working on generating the MBMC sequence that you requested and with the exposure time = 15ms and would be posted on the MBMC page today.

Also to answer your previous question regarding maximum number of patterns supported in MBMC mode, MBMC mode supports a maximum of 96 bit planes so a maximum of 96 1 bpp patterns or 48 2bpp patterns and so on.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards

    Manasi

  • Hello Sheida,

The MBMC pattern sequence you requested has been uploaded on the MBMC page:

    http://software-dl.ti.com/dlp/embedded/catalog/dlp3000/dlp3000mbmc.html

  • Hello Manasi

    Thank you for your help,

Sorry, I thought the MBMC request link you sent for me would involve the related patterns too and now I unfortunately don't have such patterns according to my request.

Can I have a request about the patterns?

or could you please post me another test link of "MBMC request" including its sample patterns too?

    Best Regards,

    Sheida

  • Hello Sheida,

The MBMC page contains a folder that will have .ReadME file and .txt file. You can use these files to generate the pattern sequences using the MBMC tab in LightCrafter GUI 5.0.

Refer to section 2.8.1.2 in the LightCrafter's User's Guide to get more information on how to use GUI to generate the patterns in MBMC mode.

Let me know if you need any more help.

    Regards

    Manasi

  • Hello Manasi

I received 3 files from my MBMC page: one "bin" file, one "LUA" file and only a ".txt"  file named as ...Readme, but I

don't know anything about the "Image List File" needed in the GUI. According to the User's Guide and the

mentioned section, I prepared a .txt file with the name of images in each row,  but MBMC didn't work again.

    I have other questions please,

Is the order of bit planes unique in the buffers?(in the readme file I received) I mean is it possible other

arrangements of bitplanes for the same MBMC pattern request?

and finally, I read about parsing patterns in "dlpa035a.pdf" for GUI v.4, what does step 3 of section 3.3.3 mean

about copying of "all patterns"? could you please explain how I should do this?

    Many thanks for your help,

    Regards,

    Sheida

  • Hello Sheida,

I know generating MBMC pattern sequences can get a little tricky. But the section 2.8.1.2 talks in detail about each of the files that are required to import in MBMC tab on the GUI.

It mentions that Image list can be generated as follows:

    Prepare image list file.
    • Create a TXT file.
    • Add one BMP image filename per line.

Make sure that all the .bmp files are present in the same directory as Image.txt file as well as the .bin and ReadMe.txt files. Find the attached screenshot of how MBMC settings should like.

After you hit "Browse and Import" it should import all the .bmp images and show them in the MBMC pattern images tab.

The order of the bitplanes would be specific to a particula MBMC pattern sequence requested.

Make sure you are using GUI version 5.0 from the latest 3.0 Software and Firmware bundle.

Let me know if anything else is needed.

    Manasi

  • Dear Manasi

Thank you for your quick and clear answer.

But when I sent you my MBMC request, I thougth you would sent back  to me suitable ". BMP images" too for the

sequence in addition to .bin and readme.txt and .lua files.

Now I don't have any ready .BMP image for my MBMC sequence to form the image list file by adding names per

line. I only have the desired sequence specification that post it to the community as:

    1bppX1R_2bppX1G_3bppX1B_4bppX1G_5bppX1R_6bppX1B_7bppX1G_8bppX5B_15 mSec.

What should I do? Sorry if my question is obvious.

    Best Regards,

    Sheida

  • Hello Sheida,

We do not supply the .bmp images.  You need to create the .bmp images that you want to use in your sequence.  Perhaps you can research, "how to create .bmp images" using Google.

    Best regards,
