DLP board issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC300

Dear Team,

I am facing an issue with DLP Lightcrafter [DLP 0.3 WVGA chipset, Version 2.0] board.  When I power ON the board, it does not display any light.  During power ON and Power OFF from the board, a flash light appears for a fraction of second.  The LED D1 keeps toggling red and green.

When trying to connect to the board using GUI, the GUI displays a popup saying "Command FAILED".  But on the status bar at the bottom of the GUI it displays "Command SUCCESS". The FIrware versions displays only DM365 (5.0).  FPGA and MSP430 displays xxx.xxx I tried flashing the FPGA [lcr_fpga_v2_06_43.rbf], GUI status shows processing and then success.  Upgrading MSP430 [lcr_msp430_v3.txt]fails (Command Failed). Upgrading DLPC300[DLPR300PROM_v1.0.bin] fails.   Upgrading DM365 is happening (Boot via SD card or NAND update).

I tried to check the connections on the DLP board and they appear to be fine.

Can someone help me to debug this further?

Regards

  • Hello Dharanisha,

Welcome to TI DLP E2E community!

Were you able to get the Lightcrafter up and running with the latest firmware?

If there is no light output at all, then it sounds like there could be an issue with the connection on the driver board (board at the bottom)

I would recommend you to follow the procedure to disassemble and reassemble the EVM as shown in pictures and check the connection on the driver board with the light engine and DMD:

Hopefully this helps. Let me know how this testing goes and if you have further questions.

    Regards
