How to use the DLP pattern sequences automatically?

Recently I use the DLP LightCrafter™ Evaluation Module (EVM).

1. How many pictures can be put in the flash memory?

2. I want the  DLP projector show designed pattern sequences automatically  after booted. But how to realize such a function? And also I need use a lot of  pattern sequences in my Experiment, So can the DLP generate pattern sequences automatically?

thank you!

  • Hello Nan,

Welcome to TI DLP E2E community!

I would be happy to answer your questions regarding the pattern sequences with LightCrafter.

So the number of patterns/pictures that you can upload to the flash memory depends on the pattern bit depth of each pattern which could be anywhere between 1-8. So for the maximum number of patterns that can be uploaded into the flash for displaying the patterns in sequence is 96 divided by the bit depth, so if the bit depth is 1 you could upload a maximum of 96 patterns. Please refer to the section 2.8.1 of the Users guide for more detailed explanation.

In addition to this high speed internal pattern sequence mode, Lightcrafter also supports Extended pattern sequence mode that would allow you to upload more than 96 patterns, please refer to the section 2.8,3 of the Users guide to get a more detailed explanation of this mode.

To answer your second question, in order to show the desired pattern sequence automatically on booting, you could create a pattern sequence by uploading all the images and configuring the pattern sequence and then saving the current settings a solution from Save solutions tab in the GUI. This solution can then be recalled or set to run as a default solution that would then start after booting. Refer to the section 2.11 of the Users guide for more details.

Hope this helps and feel free to reach out if you have more questions.

    Regards

    Manasi
