MBMC Question

Hi,

I've been looking at the possibility of utilizing diffused b&w patterns for my structured light 3D scanning project, but from the looks of it, the MBMC patterns can only use one LED at a time? Is there not a possibility to make such a pattern work on the Lightcrafter?

Hello Raf,

You are right currently one LED at a time is enabled in MBMC. Another reason behind is that the LED driver circuit on the LightCrafter don't allow more than two LEDs driving at a time. So we have restricted to single LED.

Hi,

So that means there isn't a possibility to use a b&w pattern in this manner? So I'll be limited to requesting rgb patterns. And probably would not be able to project diffused patterns using only one LED, right?

The standard Lightcrafter is limited to driving a single LED, however we have added a 3-channel driver to the baseline TI design with our LC3000-PRO solution. This allows multiple LED to be enabled at the same time. It is is the same engine as used in the Lightcrafter, but with new set of electronics.
