DLP Lightcrafter - Possible power supply issues

Hi there,

I have been using the lightcrafter for last few weeks. Recently, for some reason the LCR stopped working.

When I plug the power supply, the D2 turns ON to green while the D3 goes Red for 1 second and then off for around 10 seconds. This cycle continuously.

I am using the latest version of firmware for DM365 but older versions (2.5, i think) for MSP430.

Can you please suggest how I can debug the issue?

Thanks in advance,

Himanshu

  • Please read through the thread link , we highly recommend keeping everything together as per the package version, for example - if you are using latest 3.0 Package, you should see DM365 v5.0, MSP430 3.0 and FPGA 2.6.43.

    Regards,

  • Dear Sanjiv,

Thank you so much for the reply.

Unfortunately, as it stands, I cannot turn the DLP ON anymore so I am unable to change the firmware.
As I mentioned, when I connect the boards to power using the power socket, the LED D3 flashes every 10 seconds. The usb connection does not work in such case and I cannot connect to the LC. ALso, the LEDs on DM365 board flash and go OFF.

I tried to keep the ON/OFF switch pressed and connected the power and the LED remained red while the LEDs on the DM365 board were red (D1) and green (D5). I could then connect the usb and my PC could detect (ping) the DLP at 192.168.1.100 but could not connect to it.

I can post some screenshots/video links in the next days that might be able to provide better description of what I have written here.

In the meanwhile, is there any check I could do? My only concern is that I might inflict further damage on to components if there is indeed a power-supply failure.

    Thanks again.
    Himanshu
  • Hi Himanshu,
You can remove the top PCB System Board, apply the power, you should see the LEDs coming up and display startup logo in RED color. If this is not happening, then there is a problem on the driver board. We should fix it first. You can search on the forum about many suggestion/discussions in the forum.

  • Dear Sanjeev,

Sorry for this delayed response from my end.
I have gone around the forum to look for an answer. I also tried removing the lightengine in case that was the issue but I still cannot figure it out.
I made a video of the board behaviour after powering.
Can you please have a look and suggest what we can do? We bought the DLP recently so is there a possibility of replacing it?

  • If it is under warranty then you can request for replacement. Also talk to our Design House Keynote Photonics for possible rework of the hardware.
