Lightcrafter stuck on boot

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC300

The Lightcrafter gets to the 4th splash screen and will progress no further.

I have more than one Lightcrafter in the office so I have tested the power supply and it is not the issue. I have flashed NAND firmware via SD card on both Lightcrafters, one continues to work the other behaved as it did before the flash --> getting stuck on 4th splash screen. Both of these Lightcrafters do not have the 2.0 sticker.

I have tried booting from SD via the lcr_dm365_v5_sd.dat file and it still will not progress beyond the 4th splash screen.

Any ideas on what to try next?

Thank you,

Cole

  • Hi Cole,

Was the LightCrafter having this issue working properly before? If so, could you let us know what changed? When you try booting from the SD card are you moving switch 2 (S2) toward the SD card slot?

Here's a video that covers upgrading the LightCrafter firmware, which may be useful:

    Yes.

It has been sitting in a box untouched connected via USB to a computer and the AC power. Power is disconnected every now and then when it is not in use. When plugged back in one time it wouldn't pass 4th boot screen. So nothing physically changed and we were running the same release of software we had been running for the past 2 weeks to control the lightcrafter.

Yes I did. I tried toggling it back and fourth as well in case it was "stuck." As I mentioned I have more than one LCr in the office. I successfully updated the DM365 via NAND on one and did the same process on the one in question and it still will not get past splash screen.

    Thanks.

  • Hello Cole,

Could you please attach the UART terminal log? We can see where it is getting stuck. Make sure the System Board is properly connected to the driver board, any loose connection might result in DM365 not communicating with DLPC300 on the driver board.

Just to make sure, all are on the same page, the failing one unit doesn't go beyond the splash screen in either boot mode i.e., boot from SD card or boot from the NAND flash. Let me know if our understanding is correct. J
