DLP 3000 Ethernet?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC300

I can see in the datasheet that the DLP3000 has an Ethernet PHY connector.

Am I able to use this to communicate with the DLP3000 over Ethernet rather than USB?

Thanks,

Ian

  • Hi Ian,

Are you referring the DLP3000's controller the DLPC300? These devices do not have Ethernet connectivity. Here is the link to the DLPC300 page: www.ti.com/.../DLPC300

You may be referring to the DLP LightCrafter evaluation module (www.ti.com/.../dlplightcrafter), which uses the Ethernet interface to set up a RNDIS connection to sent packets through USB. Please take a look at the LightCrafter user's guide and the DM365 command interface guide, both linked on the LightCrafter page.

    Thanks,
    Clinton
  • Sorry, I was being very unhelpful with my part numbering. Lets start again...

I'm looking at the DLP® LightCrafter™ Evaluation Module (www.ti.com/.../dlpu006e.pdf) Which on page 16 states that connector 12 is a "Ethernet PHY". I'm wondering if this is a ethernet connection I can make use of? The datasheet doesn't reference this connector anywhere else.

    Thanks for your help.

    Ian

  • Hi Ian,

No worries. If you download the EVM reference design from the LightCrafter hompage, you can find the BOM for the platform. This connector is located on the system board (top board).

The LightCrafter uses a USB over Ethernet connection. You can find details on this in the documents I mentioned in my previous post above.

    Thanks,
    Clinton
