BTB Connector

Hi everyone,

In looking for a convenient way to integrate the Lightcrafter into my optical system I thought that it might be nice to be able to mount the DMD separately from the control board. I thought the easiest way to do this would be to find a ribbon cable which has male-female BTB connectors matching those used in the lightcrafter. According to the mounting concepts manual these connectors are Panasonic part numbers AXT550224DD1 and AXT650224DD1 which are 50 contact .4mm pitch connectors. However, I am having a lot of trouble finding such a cable.

My questions:

Has anyone else tried mounting the two separately?

Did you use a ribbon cable of this kind?

If so where did you find it and if not what did you use?

Hi Clinton,

I purchased the cable from keynote photonics and have implemented it. However, now the dmd does not seem to respond to any pattern I upload to it. I am using the bare dmd with a 660nm laser source and when I load an image sequence or preset image onto it I see no change in the beam. My question then is:

Is there any way to diagnose if the DMD itself is connected to the chipset through the GUI?
