DLP3000 active area placement

Hi all,

I would like to know the tolerances on the active area's placement in the packaged DLP3000. The only thing available on the datasheet is the dimensions of the active area itself (6571.8µm x 3699µm) and the image below:

Does anyone know if it is centred, if it is with what tolerances...

    Hi Charlie,

    Check out this app note, which can be found on a link from the DLP3000 Technical Documents page. There is some dimension information throughout, and Table 4 near the end has links to schematics and 3D models.

    Also, I'm going to shift this thread to the thread that covers DLP3000 topics. Please follow up if you have any other questions and someone should be able to answer it there.

    I replied last week to Trevor's answer but somehow my post disappeared! I am reposting it today:
    The app note does not contain any relevant information regarding the dimensions of the active area of the DMD. I got the CAD file from the link in his post and could measure the dimensions as well as the thickness of the coverglass and the distance between the coverglass and the sensor. Unfortunately, I made assumptions on where the active area is on the CAD file. I just wanted to make sure that these measured distances were right (and more specifically the thicknesses).
    I measured 0.71mm of air thickness between the sensor and the cover glass and 0.65mm of coverglass thickness. Could you please confirm these numbers?

    Hi Charlie,

    In the datasheet for the DLP3000, the dimensions of the active area can be found in table 6.11. They are 3.699mm by 6.5718mm. We don't provide the air thickness and cover glass thickness, sorry.

    I did a little asking around and I wanted to get back to you on the thicknesses you were after. You got the thickness of the cover glass exactly right. According to our mechanical drawings, the space between the mirrors and the cover glass is about 0.302mm. The side profile is the same as the LCr4500: www.ti.com/.../dlp4500.pdf (page 51)
