External pattern sequence options for >96 images

For my application, I'd like to project a larger number images (just one color) that are loaded onto an SD card. The number of images on the SD card will vary each time (sometimes it will have 400 images, sometimes 700 or more for example).

A few questions:

- Can I upload images from my computer to the SD card through the USB cable while the USB cable is connected to the LightCrafter (and the SD card is plugged into the Lightcrafter)?

- Is there another way to send >96 images to the Lightcrafter?

If this won't work through SD, I think my only option is to stream video.

  • Jason,

From our previous conversation, it is clear that the documentation on the LCr3000 isn't clear on these questions. Let me do some digging and get back to you on these questions. Thanks,

  • Hi Jason,

#1. This particular functionality is not implemented so not possible with the current DM365 firmware.

#2. Yes, you can upload as many number of images as possible, the images will be stored in the DM365 side which can displayed displayed later-on by sending simple commands. There is 1Gbit (128MB) DDR2 SDRAM space which allocated for Linux Kernel, root file system, various other user space applications, the remaining memory can be used to store your 1-bit patterns,  i think it will be enough to hold upto 1500 1-bit patterns which can be displayed as we want, for > 96 images, the shorted display time for a 1-bit pattern come down to ~18ms see this thread https://e2e.ti.com/support/dlp__mems_micro-electro-mechanical_systems/f/850/t/258832
