Unable to Display using HDMI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP401

I'm using Control Software 2.0.0, Win 7 x64. Dell M4700

I'm connected to the LCr4500 via HDMI and my laptop sees the display as LCr 4500 with a 1280x800 resolution. I've set it to extend my desktop to this display. I've set my laptop color depth to 16 bit. Video Mode is selected in the Control Software.

The Control Software shows a momentary buffer freeze when i change bit depth but then goes away. All other buttons are green(Init Done and Seq Running) on the control software. Getting the Display area is shows 1280x800 as the display dimensions.

Anyone know why I am unable to display via HDMI?

Thanks

Ryan

  • Hello Ryan,

Is your problem momentary buffer freeze? Or nothing displayed, if so look at the below comment,

The Control Software shows a momentary buffer freeze when i change bit depth but then goes away..

[Sanjeev] You mean nothing shown by the LCr4500 EVM after this setting? There is a Green Status LED at the TFPxxx DVI receiver chip on the kit, let me know if the LED is LIT after the setting at the PC. If it is NOT lit then basically there is no video signal coming at the PC side.

  • Correct, I get no image out of the light engine. The green LED at D4 of the board continuously flashes regardless of what i do....

It appears to be a bad micro HDMI cable. When unplugging it i saw another tiny LED at D3 next to TFP401 chip flash.  Bending the cable just the right way seems to have fixed it. The manual should be updated to show the location and meaning of the various LED's on the board.

    Thanks
