These chaps maintain a list of compatible chips than can be detected by the i2c-tools utility. I notice there are a number of Texas instrucments sensors, but no mention of projectors. They do make a request on their website for you to send them the info so that future releases of their sensors-detect i2c sniffer can detect and enable the driver for communicatiing with the chips.
