Pico dlp release 1 not stable intensity

We are happy of the news about the release 2 on pico projector, because we are very interested on this device.

we bought 3 Pico DLP kits, connected to beagle board....

We have experienced not stable image, if we  were projecting ( display ) a predefined  image, we have seen the intensity was changing for the very first few seconds.

It was stable after about 2 seconds.

We divided the cable out from the beagle board and splitted one to pico projector and the other on a consumer LCD screen.

On the Lcd screen the image was stable, not on pico projected image , but just after 2 secs.

Do you have experienced this too?

Is it resolved on release 2?

Best Regards

Giovanni

    Hello Giovanni,

    Thank you for your interest.

The Pico comes up in a different mode and then switches to video input (some settings get updated) so you may see the image change initially on the Pico. This is the case for Pico 2 also.

    Best regards,

  • Thank you tsolo,

will this happen also if I will use the new video mode number 0x04 ,

called external pattern monochrome (green only is fine) , where the upper left corner of the vga are 1:1 diplayed?

This mode seems to solve the individual pixel driving.

In structured pattern ..also the ligth intensity it is important,

and if we change the projected pattern on the vga screen ..than  we would not wait for ligth stabilization.

    Thanks again,

    Giovanni

    Hello Giovanni,

You can change the interface mode once the Pico is configured. At power up you will always see the default image/intensity.

    Best regards.
