DLP4710: DLP vertical lines issue on backgraound

Part Number: DLP4710

Hello

I am working with DLP device. When I upload an image and run it, I see vertical lines at the background. If I upload an all black image, the lines are white and if I upload an all white image, the lines are black. How can I get rid of these lines??

and i've found in e2e there are same issue and answered to check the flex cable. but our design is different with others because we using 300mm other cable made in Samtec with 50 ohm..

is there any check point.

below are my cable.

  • Hello User,

It looks like you might have damaged the DMD permanently. Can you swap out the DMD or the optical engine to see if the issue is going away with the new part ?

In general we have design rules for the DMD interface. We recommend an impedance of 68 Ohm and max. length of 6 inch. If the signals integrity is not ensured this can result in DMD damage.

Please refer to following document regarding design rules :

    Best regards,

  • Hello Nadine

    thanks for your feedback.

you said max length is 6 inch. do mean is cable are max. 6 inch between board to board? because our cable is 12 inch.

    chase.
  • Hello Kim,

I believe that Nadine is in fact referring to the length of the lines between the DMD interface and the controller, which would indeed include the cable. Longer than that and you run the risk of encountering signal integrity problems.

You may need to try using a shorter cable to see if it improves your system's performance.

    I hope this helps,
