DLP4710: Why did the 8-bit image refresh rates of DLP4710 fell from 240Hz to 60Hz ?

Part Number: DLP4710
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3010

Why did the 8-bit image refresh rates of DLP4710 fell from 240Hz to 60Hz ?

We went to buy the DLP4710, because its 8-bit image refresh rate is 240 Hz.On the other hand, its size, resolution, is in conformity with our requirements. We designed the whole system  around it, but a few days ago, suddenly see that  the 8-bit image refresh rate of DLP4710 is 60Hz from the website. So we want to ask the headquarters for the related reason. After all, we haved spent too much time and energy on it, we need a clear reply.

  • Hello Joblin,

Thank you for your interest in the DLP products! Sorry to hear about the trouble.

The frame rate for the DLP4710 has been 60Hz since their release. Can you please refer to the source or documentation regarding the 240Hz frame rate?

Also, what is the final application for the design? Please note that the Pico chip sets such as the DLP4710 are mainly aimed towards display applications and our ALC products support structured light application.

  • Before 240Hz

    Now 60Hz

    Hello Sepeedah,

You say that the frame rate for the DLP4710 has been 60Hz since their release. You can see that the upper screenshot  is  240Hz, but the lower one is 60Hz. All of thease are gotten from your  website.

We want to use the DLP4710 to construct  the AR glasses.

I want to ask  the same question about the DLP3010, what is  the 8-bit frame rate of the DLP3010, and  why did the frame rate fell  from  240Hz to120Hz?

  • Hello Joblin,

    I apologize for the confusion.
The previous table had some errors which were updated. This has been communicated to make sure other overview content are accurate on the website as well. However, the datasheet has not changed and neither DLP4710 nor DLP3010 will be able to support 240Hz frame rate.
Regarding the DLP3010, the max frame rate on the device is 120Hz as mentioned in the datasheet.
Please note that the datasheet is the most accurate source for all the technical information.

    Best,
    Sepeedah
