DLP4710: What function does the Flash board have? - FLA7(LH90) Flash board

Part Number: DLP4710
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3439

Hello!

I'm learning the DLP4710EVM_G2.

I figure out that J22 is connected to Flash board(P/N:00LH901G001 REV.B) through Flat cable.

By the shematic of DLP4710EVM_G2, SPI signal also go to the Flash board.

I think that the SPI signal has a specified function. Is it correct?

In my knowledge, DMD4710 doen't have pin for SPI signal.

if then, I need to know more about the Flash board.

Could you let me know where I can find the schemetic file for the Flash board?

or

Cound you send me the schemetic file?

Regards

  • Hello Yun-Seok,

Thank you for your interest in DLP products.
J22 connects the controller (DLPC3439) board which also has flash on it to the the DMD board through the flex cable.
Yes, the DMD chip does not have a SPI interface, however the DMD controller (DLPC3439) has SPI interface to communicate with the flash.
The schematic files and other information for this EVM can be found in the following TI design : www.ti.com/.../tida-01226

    Hope this help.

  • Dear Sepeedah,

    Thanks for your quick answer.

I figure out that the  Flash board(DMD board) has two flash memory IC  like below diagram.

And  two flash memory IC has to be connected to DLPC3439 through SPI communication.

    Am I correct?

Is there any special reason that the flash memory is placed on the Flash board(DMD board)?

Can I  move and place the flahs memory IC to other location like EVM main board?

    Regards

    Yun-Seok Cho

  • Yun-Seok,

The Flash ICs on the DMD board are disabeld and not used by the EVM.There are flash memory ICs on the main EVM board (U16 and U18 in the schematic), which are the ones used by the controller.

However, if you are looking for schematics for the DMD board, please contact Young Optics. Their contact information can be found at the following:
