CCS/DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: Autobrightness w/ Raspberry Pi & OPT3001

Part Number: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPT3001, DLPC3439

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I'm trying to implement an AutoBrightness feature using an OPT3001 and a Raspberry Pi. At the moment my first thought is to use the i2c communicate between the 3 devices with the Raspberry Pi as the master. Am I on the right track or is there something I'm not considering?

  • Lucas,

Welcome to the forums and thanks for your interest in our DLP products.

Yes, you can make brightness adjustments on the DLPDLCR4710EVM using I2C commands. In particular, I recommend checking Section 2.3.3.48 in the DLPC3439 Programmer's guide for more information on LED current I2C commands to use:

    I hope this helps.
