DLPC3433: Frame Rate on DSI and Parallel Interface

Part Number: DLPC3433

Hello,

In the DLPC3433 documentation section 7.2, Table 4 states the Frame Rate Range.

It is unclear what is the limiting factor the the frame rate. Is it the data transfer or scaling that needs to happen if data is transferred at non-native resolutions.

For my application I am looking to transfer data over Parallel Interface or DSI interface with RGB888 at the native resolution 1280x720. With native resolution transferred over Parallel or DSI interface what is the max frame rate achievable?

Thanks,

Cole

  • Hello Cole,

The limiting factor for the parallel interface is the pixel clock of 150MHz.

This means with an input resolution of 1280x720 the max frame rate achievable is 120Hz.

DSI is a little bit more complex and has to be looked at for you specific case. The max. is also 120Hz. Do you know how many lanes you would like to use for DSI ?

    Best regards,
    Nadine
