Replacement options for DMD 1076-6318W (Casio xj-m250)

  • I need to replace the DMD in my Casio xj-m250 projector because it is bad, or going bad. (White and Black dots litter the screen).  The original DMD that is in the projector is a 1076-6318W I believe.
  • My question is...do I have to replace it with the same DMD or is there an upgraded version of the chip that will work in the projector? Work better?
  •                 Also, is the 1280-6338B an upgraded DMD version that will work?
  •                 How about the 1076-6039B? Please let me know what is the best replacement options for my projector. Thanks!

  • Jamal,

Have you contacted Casio regarding your issue? Your best option is to ask them regarding what you can do regarding your faulty DMD, as well as replacement options.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Best Regards,

  • Thanks for responding.  Already been down that road. Casio does not have any idea.  I have talked to both tier 1 & 2 support.  They tell me that I should either contact Texas Instruments or I could send it in to their facility for a repair.  I 1. dont want to be without it for that long (I imagine several weeks maybe even months), 2. Want to pay them to repair something I could change out myself.

The projector is about 5-6 years old (I guess).  Casio phone support had no information that is not available already in the user guide.  There isnt even a mention of the DMD in the Casio user guide.

Got any other ideas?  Please advise.

    -Jamal

  • Jamal,

TI is only a component supplier to Casio and thus do not have insight into the details of the final product. Therefore your best option will be to work directly with the projector maker.
