The detail dimensions of DLP LightCrafter Display 3010 EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3010, DLP4500, DLP2010

Dear TI Engineer:

What is exact the dimensions of DLP LightCrafter Display 3010 EVM? I mean something like the size and the position of the threaded holes in the baseboard and the size of the whole EVM. I just want to mount it in a system but fail to find the dimensions from the brochure on the website.

Best regards,

Ray

  • Hello Ray,

I only want to make sure that I understand your question correctly. Do you want to have the overall size of the main board and the position of the threaded holes ? Do you need any other dimensions ?

    Thanks,

    Nadine

  • Hi, Nadine
I am sorry for not stating my issue clearly. Previously, I thought the threaded holes on the back of the main board are designed to mount in other device. Now I come to recognize they are just the holes for the setup inside the EVM. So what I want to know now is how can I fasten it on another device. Should I make a specific jig or fixture for it?
    Regards,
    Ray
  • Hello Ray,

Can you please provide an email address and I will send you the mechanical drawing for the 3010 EVM plate. I think this drawing should help you to get your setup mounted in the correct way.

    Thanks,

    Nadine

  • Hi, Nadine

I really appreciate your help! Surely I can give you my email address, it is suppose_ray@yahoo.com . By the way, I only have the Auto CAD from Autodesk in my PC, so would you please send me the mechanical dawing whose format can be opened with this software.

    Thanks,

    Ray
  • Hello Nadine,

Can you please sent me the dawing too,
    marc-henri.frouin@isen-lille.fr
    Thank you in advance,

    Marc
  • Hello Marc,

You should have received an invite to download the CAD files. Please let me know if you have any issues downloading the file.

    Best regards,

    Nadine
  • hello Nadine,

Can you please sent me the drawing or CAD model of the DLP® LightCrafter™ Display 3010 EVM at aboissiere@evosens.fr

    Thank you in advance,

    Aymeric

  • Hello User,

Thank you for your interest in our DLP Technology. You should have received a link to download the CAD files.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Best regards,

    Nadine

  • Hi Nadine,

Can you please also send me the dimensions and mounting options for the this projector. Can you please also tell me the size of the projection at minimum focus and zoom. My email is trevorwardill@hotmail.com

    Best, Trevor
  • Hello Trevor,

You should have received a link to download the mechanical drawings of the DLP LightCrafter 3010 EVM.

For the projection display size I would like to refer you to our Throw ratio calculator located under following link:

Specific optical engine details for the DLP LightCrafter 3010 EVM can be found in the EVM User's Guide.

    Best regards,

    Nadine

  • Thank you Nadine, much appreciated.

Can you please send the same mechanical drawings for the LightCrafter 4500?

Can you please tell me optically for the 3010, what is the minimum size of the screen possible, keeping the image in focus? ie. how small can the projected image be, but still in focus? How does this compare with the 4500?

Can you please tell me the reflectivity spectrum of the LightCrafter 3010 and 4500. I would like to use a UV light source. I realise this will reduce its lifespan, but I will only be periodically using UV so am happy to replace the projector if needed. Thus I would like to know which DLP will reflect the most light around 350 nm.

    Best, Trevor
  • Hello Trevor,

The DLP3010 DMD is designed for display application. Please ensure that your are meeting the specified limit in the DLP3010 DMD datasheet if using UV light. The min. image diagonal size is 5 inch.

For question regarding the LightCrafter 4500 I would like to move you to the 4500 forum. They can help you answering your questions regarding this EVM.

    Best regards,

    Nadine
  • Thank you Nadine for providing information.

Can you please share with me via a dropbox, the reflectance spectra of this particular DLP device. I am aware you have this information for each DMD but I would like to know how this compares with the 4500. I am not in a position to use a custom UV tailored device as this would require considerably greater expense and engineering that I do not have available.

    Best, Trevor
  • Hello Trevor,

Unfortunately I can not share files via dropbox. Did you have any problems downloading the 3010 EVM files ?

The 3010 DMD is not designed for operating in the UV light spectrum therefore we don't have the information you have requested available.

    Best regards,

    Nadine

  • Hi Nadine,

Yeap, got the mechanical drawings for the 3010 EVM thank you so much. Can you please send me a link for the mechanical drawings for the TI DLP4500 projector as I cannot find it on your website or in any of the forums (the search engine at least does not show it). You send me a previous link to another forum page but this was not helpful.

Can you please also tell me which optical window the 3010 EVM and the DLP4500 have? You have produced a document that describes the DMD windows but not which models have which materials.

    Application Report DLPA031C–May 2012–Revised March 2014
Wavelength Transmittance Considerations for DLP® DMD Window

I would also like to know if the coating is on the outside or inside of the window and what material the window is made from. Can you please share with me these details, offline if necessary. I am planning to use the projectors for visual science research and the additional UV reflectance would be most appreciated. I will not be exposing the DLP mirrors to long UV exposures but I do want as much light back as possible. I do not mind buying several devices and pulling them apart to figure it out but it would be massively easier if you could share this data with me.

    Best, Trevor
  • Hi Trevor,

The mechanical information (PCB, schematics) for the LCr4500 can be found here: www.ti.com/.../DLP4500-C350REF

We don't provide information regarding the specific compounds used to coat the windows. The app note you referenced indicates the type of glass that the window is made from.

    Hope this helps,
    Paul
  • Hi Nadine.

I am also currently developing a projector solution based on the DLP3010 Unit. Could you also send to my email the dimesions of the 3010EVM Evaluation module???

I have just started and decided to go with the 3010 because it has HD capabilies in a relative small size plus is not as expensive as the Full HD. I also need the information about where to get the optics. Could you confirm if the optic module used on the 3010EVM is this:

    www.wpgo2o.com/getAdDetailPage

I tried contacting that company by phone but it didnt work. I hope you can help me. I also will buy a module, is it possible to get it in Germany

    Regards

    Antonio Lomeli
  • Hello Antonio,

Can you please send me your email via a private message and I will provide the mechanical drawing for the EVM?

The optical engine link didn't work for me. We receive the optical engine for the DLP LightCrafter Display 3010 EVM from Anhua/Eprotech. The contact information for our optical engine providers can be found under following link:

    www.ti.com/.../optical-module-manufacturers.page

The optical engine can be also bought from TI.com under following link:

    www.wpgo2o.com/getAdDetailPage

The EVM can be also purchased from Germany.

    Best regards,
    Nadine
  • Hi. I cannot send you private massages, there is not that option in the menu. Could you please provide me with an email address??

I am now interested in the DLP2010 system too. I need info about it too.

    Thanks a lot

    Antonio Lomeli
  • Hello Antonio,

I accepted your friends request. You should be able to send me a private message with your email address.

In general the overall dimension of both EVMs are listed below:

    DLPDLCR2010EVM:

    Width W: 3.1 inches
    Length L: 7 inches
    Height H: 1.25 inches

    DLPDLCR3010EVM:

Width W (without the lens): 75 mm
    Length L : 134.86 mm
    Height H: 46.51 mm

    Best regards,

    Nadine
  • Hi Nadine,

Can you also send me the CAD model of the module at info.jamsatraders@gmail.com.
