DLPDLCR3010EVM: Adding OSD function

Part Number: DLPDLCR3010EVM

Dear All

Thank you for your support.

We(our customer) plan to add OSD function to the new design projector which based on DLPDLCR3010EVM.

Does TI have any application note or something about design example or any recommendation OSD chip for customer?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Rossinag

  • Rossinag,

On its own, the DLPC3435 does not have built in support for OSD. You will need a frontend for this purpose. Are you trying to integrate the two components together?

Although we do not have a specific guide on OSD implementation, we have some getting started guides for DLP in general. Our app notes on mobile smart TV, for example, can be found here:

    http://www.ti.com/solution/dlp_mobile_smart_tv

    http://www.ti.com/lit/wp/dlpa061a/dlpa061a.pdf

Let me know if you have more information on the desired OSD application so we can discuss further.

  • Philippe,

Thank you very much for your advice.

Yes, we intend to integrate OSD function by adding on frontend.

The OSD menu is only 3 contents now ,Keystone, Brightness, Volume(for DAC control of HDMI receiver ).

In this simple case ,if possible, does any recommended OSD chip exsist?

    Best regards,

    Rossinag

  • Hello Rossinag,

It would depend on your other requirements and system design as to what chip may be best. Often this chip will handle various other functions as well as providing an on screen display (for example, a WiFi connection). TI's processors are listed at www.ti.com/.../overview.html. You may be particularly interested in the Digital media processors at www.ti.com/.../overview.html.

If you have specific questions about those processors we'll direct you to those E2E forums. Otherwise if you would like to detail your desired system a little more we will see what specific recommendations we may have.

    Thanks,
    Kyle
