DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2: DLPA30000PMIC chip failure - Service Request number SR#1-4561025742

TI support (SR#1-4561025742) directed me to post my question to this forum.

We purchased a DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 back in April (order number 1821332). Yesterday the DLPA30000PMIC chip on the top board failed. We heard a snapping sound and smoke appeared. After removing the top 'heat sink' we could see the damage to the chip. If we disconnect that top board, the rest of the unit appears to be working. Is it possible to get a replacement for the top board on this unit?

Hi Lowell,
Welcome to DLP forum! It is unfortunate that the display board (top) of the EVM is damaged. TI does not sell replacement parts or boards for the EVM.

Thank you for your response. Can the unit be sent in for repair? We've owned the unit for less than the 90 day warranty. (Though we have since taken the heat sink and the top board off when trying to diagnose the failed part.)
