    Is there a way to evaluate the new(er) C5505A chips? The ezdsp5505 boards all appear to have the old VC5505 chips on them.

    For example, from the TI store website:

    The TMDX5505eZDSP is a small form factor, very low cost USB-powered DSP development tool which includes all the hardware and software needed to evaluate the industry's lowest power 16-bit DSP: TMS320VC5504 and TMS320VC5505

    ...and if you download the datasheet from the Mouser site, it is the VC5505 datasheet.

    I need the 150MHz clock and newer features of the C5505A chip.

    Thx,

    MikeH

      Hi Mike,

      The text and image on that page is out of date...  I will ask for it to be updated.

      Since the VC5505 went NRND, we have not been shipping boards with that silicon.

      The newer C5505 eZdsp is identifiable with C5505A devices if the PCB color is red instead of green.

      TMS320C5505AZCH15 - is the part number for the 150MHz devices. I dont think the C5505 eZdsp ships with this speed grade, but I am checking.

      Best Regards,
      Mark

      Mike,

      I have verified that the P/N shipping with the red C5505 eZdsp is TMS320C5505AZCH12 - 120MHz version.

      DEVICE MAXIMUM OPERATING FREQUENCY
      10 = 60 MHz at 1.05 V, 100 MHz at 1.3 V
      12 = 75 MHz at 1.05 V, 120 MHz at 1.3 V
      15 = 75 MHz at 1.05 V, 150 MHz at 1.4 V

      CVDD of 1.4V is also required to run at 150MHz.

      Best Regards,
      Mark
