MP3 Encoding How to ?

Expert 2065 points

Hello,

I am looking to realize a system which would perform the following:

mixing two/three audio source and then encode the result in  MP3 in a TF card.

I am wondering if the C5000 could do this and if yes how ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • ok, waiting then :)

I just bough the launchpad pack

  • hi,

    any news about this ?

  • You can use C5000 DSP for MP3 encode/decode applications. It supports I2S/McBSP module for audio Tx/Rx and MMCSD module for accessing MMC/eMMC/SD/microSD cards. There are multiple instances of I2S/McBSP which can be used to handle multiple audio sources. Sine you are planning to mix different audio sources, it is advised to do the mixing at HW codec. You can consider PCM series audio codecs but note that they will be on higher side with respect to power consumption and cost.

You may want to evaluate audio booster pack which demonstrates the audio encode/decode capabilities of C5000 DSPs. Please check some useful links below.
