[C5535]Provide some advice for writing a boot image to eMMC on customer board at their factory line

Hi community member,
Please provide your advice for the following request and question.

[Request]
Would you please provide some solution for writing a boot image to eMMC on customer board at their factory line?

[Background]
Now, my customer think to use the C5535 for their application as Main CPU and use the eMMC for main strage memory and putting the boot Image. They will reduce the external BOMs as much as possible because their application is low cost model in their lineup. So they cannot use the SPI Flash or I2C EEPROM for their application. And they cannot use the specific eMMC which the provider have already programmed their boot image in terms of cost.

One of the case of using the CCS , I know that TI provide the SPI flah writer for C5535eZdsp. But I could not find the writer for eMMC. Can you provide the program for writing the boot image to their application?

If you have any questions, please let me know.
Best regards.

  • Hi Kaka-san,

The boot image file needs to be named as “bootimg.bin” before copying to eMMC card.

Boot image can be programmed to eMMC card using programmer application available in CSL package. The readme provides the details on the options to write to MMC/eMMC. But I do not think this application suits the factory line requirements, as this process is slower and uses CCS, JTAG.
