C5509A not boot from flash

Hello, everyone. I need your help.
There is legacy board based on C5509 and flash GE28F320C2BD70 Intel.
On two boards has been replaced flash chips to M28W320FCB70 Micron,
which is compatible with Intel flash(hardware and software). Further operations procedure and problem:
1) I have switched board to boot from usb. Board loading boot-programm from PC and start - here it is OK.
2) My boot-programm write itself to the flash and has checked - here it is OK.
3) I have switched board to boot from flash and reset. There is a problem - board not booting from new flash chip.
DSP read boot table(picture 1), and then try read setction, but read only 10 words and stop. In what there can be a problem?

(both boards behave equally).

Please, help.
Thank you.

  • Hi,

Could you please check and confirm whether all the timing parameter with respect to new flash is aligned as per datasheet. Since you tried with two boards and both behave same, my initial suspicion is with timing, command sequence (  I haven't checked flash datasheet though).

Also, any particular reason for changing the old flash device ?

  • Hi,

Old flash chip no longer in production, therefore, the replacement.

Yes, I check all the timing  parameter and commands with respect to new flash, the new chip is fully compatible, otherwise the bootloader would not be able to record themselves on a chip.
