C5535 EZDSP audio output jack, Sine Wave example

When running the example CSL_I2S_IdleLoop_Out, I get the following output

I2S Idle Loop Example
This Example will continuously Pump a Sine Wave Signal to the Audio Output using the Codec

Please connect the Headphone to the Audio Output (Headphone) Jack

I2S Module Instance opened successfully
I2S Module Configured successfully
Pumping of a Sine Wave Signal to the Audio Output Started!!

This is what my board configuration looks like:

However, I do not hear anything coming from the output jack. Is this the correct setup?

Hi,

Which CSL version are you using ? Are you using latest CSL version 3.06 ?

Also, could you check and confirm you have a right define " #define CHIP_C5535 " in csl_general.h.

Thanks Vasanth. I am using the right CSL version but the right macros were not being defined in csl_general.h

Hi Nathan,

Just following up on the other questions you had:

- Please check out c55_csl_3.06\ccs_v6.x_examples\i2s\CSL_I2S_AudioCodec_DMA example on the C5535 eZdsp. It plays stereo from/to the codec. The Spectrum digital site has some stereo playback test code as well which would also be helpful. It however uses polling instead of interrupts or DMA. Polling is inefficient compared to interrupt or DMA based processing. There are examples in the package with the 3 techniques. You can implement these with DSP/BIOS which is a real-time multi tasking kernel. The sensory demo uses DSP/BIOS, so you can take a look at that demo to get an understanding on how DSP/BIOS can be implemented.
