Hi,
I have been trying to get started with TMS320C5515 EVM (Rev B). I got a DVD with it which contained CCS 4.1 and drivers. I followed the Quick Start Installation Guide and installed the contents of the DVD (on a Windows XP - SP3 machine) . When I plugged in the EVM into the USB port, new hardware was detected and some drivers were automatically installed. In the Device Manager I see "Texas Instruments Emulators"->"Texas Instruments XDS560 PCI JTAG Emulator". However there is a warning sign on it. When I click on it, I see "Device Cannot Start (Code 10)". Troubleshoot does not solve the problem. Updating the driver does not work either as it says that the wizard cannot find a better match than what is already installed. I tried a fresh install of CCS a couple of times, resetting the board, power cycling, etc and none of these solved my problem. Now I no longer see the "found new hardware" balloon every time I unplug and plug in the hardware (even after a fresh install of CCS). As per the recommendations in another forum for a similar problem but with a different processor, I tried to update the driver by pointing it to ccsv4/common/uscif/ftdi/DPInst32. The install completes successfully with the following status: "FTDI CDM Driver Package - Ready to Use". This however does not solve the problem
Though I was sure it would not work, I tried CCS Configuration. I selected "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZdsp onboard USB Emulator"->"EVM5515". Then I clicked "Launch Selected Configuration" and get the error message "Error Initializing Emulator".
A colleague of mine with his own set of the same hardware encountered the same issue independently.
I think I may not have installed the correct drivers, but I do not know where to find them as I have installed the contents of the DVD using the auto-run application. I will appreciate any suggestions that will help me solve this issue.
Thanks!
Nandan
