CCS/TMS320C5545: Can't build and download basic program onto C5545 with CCS

Hello,

We are trying to program some very basic programs on c5545, but are running into some roadblocks very early on. Here is a screenshot of the problems we have run into:

Any advice would be appreciated. looking at the other threads, we have not been able to solve this.

We so far can run the included diagnostic test, but are trying to work towards other functionality.

Hi Lali,

I am looking to continue on the simple project that Eric is working on. This time we are looking to turn on one of the LEDs. We looked at the code from the diagnostics and tried to take pieces from it to add onto our project. Can you assist with this procedure. I have attached my code and error screen to to this message.

Those errors seem to be from the incorrect macro defined in the C:\ti\c55_lp\c55_csl_3.07\inc\csl_general.h file located inside
C:\ti\c55_lp\c55_csl_3.07\ccs_v6.x_examples\C55XXCSL_LP

This is needed in order to ensure that the correct CSL defs are picked up. Ensure you have the correct C5545 macro defined in that file.

Hi Lali,

If I am creating a standalone project to turn one LED on, why would I need to correct macros in the csl_general.h file?

Can you assist us with this simple standalone program?

There is an LED example already in the CSL package for the C5545BP located at C:\ti\c55_lp\c55_csl_3.07\demos\out_of_box\c5545\c5545bp_software_01.01.00.00\source_code\c55xx_diagnostics\board\diag\led_test

Attached is the .out.

The correct macros are needed in the csl_general.h since some API calls might vary with different C55x devices.

Eric,

The file is located at C:\ti\c55_lp\c55_csl_3.07\inc\csl_general.h in the CSL release. In here you will have to comment out the relevant platforms.

Please find attached a csl_general.h file configured for the C5545BP. You can do a comparison between this and the default file in the CSL to see how to configure it.

Hello Lali,

We are working on the same project with Eric and we are having issues building a lot of our projects.

Under the 'uart_test' project we had downloaded from TI's website, we attempted to build the project but here are the errors we came across.

Please let us know how to fix the "struct <unnamed> has no field errors"

It seems you have the same issue with the incorrect macro defined in csl_general.h.

Please use the file I attached in my previous thread.
This error is documented here:

Navigate to C:\ti\c55_lp \ c55_csl_x.xx\inc\csl_general.h and change the following macro definitions:

#define CHIP_C5517 to //#define CHIP_C5517
#define CHIP_C5505_C5515 to //#define CHIP_C5505_C5515
#define CHIP_C5535 to //#define CHIP_C5535
