Hi Folks,

We are developing speech recognition support for a automotive product Have couple of queries on using Speech Recognition Reference Design on the C5535 eZdsp and libraries. Following are the queries:

Does the TIesr Library support array of mics inputs?
Is Ambient noise cancellation supported? Any test report/docs available to measure the performance of the ambient Noise cancellation?

The TIesr library does not care as to how the audio data is presented to it. The mechanism by which the audio is captured could be 1 or many mics. You would need a way to choose the mic with the highest energy and feed that into the TIesr library. So, the TIesr example as-is, is a 1 mic input, but can be scaled to handle larger inputs.

There isn't any noise cancellation in the example. There is a C5517 TI design in the works that has noise cancellation integrated, and should be out in the next month or so. However, the source code is already available in the latest CSL release. The documentation is what's in the works. Just wanted to point it out in case you wanted some reference code. This example has a 4 mic beamformer, ASNR (noise cancellation) and MSS (multi source selection) without the TIesr integration.

So, theoretically you could stitch TIesr to it.

Hi Team,

Has C5517 TI design been released in the market? If so, We would like to have the noise cancellation library from C5517 TI design be ported to the TMS320C5535. Can this be ported to the C5535 along with Tiesr?

The noise reduction algorithm in this TI design is ASNR (Acoustic Spectral Noise Reduction). Essentially removes low frequency noise. I don't see why this can't be integrated to TIesr if desired. The ASNR algorithm is a stand-alone component, so please take a look at the TIesr code and could you need to see if it can be stitched to the front of TIesr similar to how its done in the C5517 code.

I just wanted to reiterate that the TIesr demo is not a production quality speech recognition library, so please treat it as such when trying to improve it for your project. Sensory has a production quality speech recognition library that works with C5000.

Can you provide us a point of contact to Sensory. We would like to get hands on with sensory, before we could officially purchase one. Any available Demo or samples would be of great help.

Also, please suggest TI's hardware compatibility with Sensory libraries.

I would suggest you contact your local TI sales rep to get some help on this. If not, you can contact Sensory through www.sensory.com/.../ not sure which part of the world you are located.

C5515, 17, 35 and 45 can run the Sensory libraries.
