TMS320VC5502: Reading date code

Part Number: TMS320VC5502

Hi,

I am trying to read the date code of the part that I have but the part marking lookup does not have information for the package with drawing  pgf http://www.ti.com/general/docs/topsidemarkingformats.tsp?actionPerformed=listPkgTopSideFormats&pkg=ABC

The marking also does not seem to follow other YMLLLLS format, can anyone advise what would be the date information is?

Marking is :-

TMS       300

320VC5502PGF

CA-3CA48KW

          G4

Anyone can advise?

Thanks in advance

Irfaan

  • Hi Irfaan,

The device naming is described in Section 4.3 Device and Development-Support Tool Nomenclature & Section 6.2 Packaging Information in the TMS320VC5502 Data Manual.

    Hi Yordan,

Thanks for the feedback but I am looking for the date code information. Both Section 6.2 and Section 4.3 does not explain the date code marking which I suspect is contained in the third line "CA-3CA48KW".

    Irfaan
  • In reply to Wan Irfaan:

    Hi Irfaan

3CA48KW is the YMLLLS format as referred to in the marking files.
YM is the Year Month the device was assembled into its package.
Because there is only one character for the M (month); A=October, B=November, C=December

    Hi Mukul,

Thanks for the clarification. Was not able to decode the alphabet, but this explains it.

    Regards,
    Irfaan
