CCS/TMS320C5545: unresolved symbols even though csl is installed

I have some unresolved issues with functions defined in the CSL files not being linked in my project. I have tried linking the csl inc and src files with no success. I have also looked to see if there was a .lib file included in the csl directory and did not find one. The particular csl files that contain definitions that aren't linked are csl_i2c, csl_i2s, csl_gpio, vectors.asm, csl_IRQplug.asm, and csl_intc.
