Can I use the available on C6474 AIF ports as Serial RapidIO? I don't need any of those antenna interfaces but I need more SRIOs.
And if yes, where do I look for appropriate information?
Thanks,

The I/Os associated with the C6474 AIF interface can not be used as Serial RapidIO. The Serial RapidIO is a specific module that is associated with the 2x lanes only. In addition, the AIF is a specific module associated with specific I/Os of the device.
Unfortunately, what you are asking is not possible.
The Advantages of Using the TMS320C6474 Over the TMS320C6455 white paper says:
"Additionally, however, since the AIF provides functionality which is very
similar to six lanes of SRIO, when appropriately configured, it can be
used to provide similar general-purpose data transfer capability that can
be used in lieu of SRIO or PCIe."
This was the matter of the previous question.
Where do I look for the instructions on how to 'appropriately configure' the AIF in order for it to provide the general-purpose data transfer capability?

SergD1,
We are exploring methods of how to do this and found that they are pretty complicated. Since every bit is moving in a synchronous fashion, in order to load the packets, a lot of set up is involved and he overall process is not a clean "one size fits all" solution and not as generic as using SRIO or PCIe. I am sorry if the wording of the white paper may have caused an assumption that it is a straightforward and available solution. Please continue to provide feedback as to why you are looking to use AIF in different ways as we may come up with a solution.

See IDT 80HFC1000 CPRI-sRIO FIC device on http://www.openbasestation.org/newsletters/july2008/idt.htm . It connects directly to the C6474 or TCI6488 AIF ports and provides up to four additional SRIO to a C6474 !
