Keystone training

I was trying to access the Keystone training material available at training.ti.com. Specifically, I tried accessing the SRIO slides present here training.ti.com/keystone-serial-rapid-io-srio;While I was able to download the slides http://training.ti.com/system/files/docs/keystone-srio-slides.pdf I

• Hi Arvind,
Keystone Online Training materials are available in below link.
training.ti.com/online-training-keystone-multicore-soc-devices
NOTE: The new portal is not working well with Internet Explorer. We recommend using Chrome or Foxfire until this issue is resolved.

We are also working to get www.ti.com/keystonetraining<www.ti.com/keystonetraining> restored. That should be available soon.
• Hi Raja,

The link that you shared eventually leads to software-dl.ti.com/.../index.html, if I try and access the voice over presentations. This link isn't working. Could you please confirm if you are able to view the presentation with the voice over fine? As I mentioned I can access the PDF document containing the slides, but I am more interested in the voice over presentation.

I am using Chrome 41.0.2272.76 and it is not working there. I am not using either Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Best regards
Arvind
• Hi,

I have tried the same link in Chrome Version 40.0.2214.115 the presentation is working fine.

Thanks,
• Arvind:

The MP3 presenter audio for this training is a bit on the quiet side. Please check your audio settings. I also recommend using headphones or a good set of speakers to ensure that the audio can be heard properly.

If you are not receiving any audio, please advise and I will attempt to troubleshoot this issue further.

NOTE: I was able to load this training with audio in IE, Chrome and Firefox.

Regards,

Rob
• I can certainly not access the voice over presentation using this link software-dl.ti.com/.../index.html. To the extent that I am even unable to see the slides leave only the audio. Eve my colleague faced the same problem. So it has got nothing to do with my machine.

To be sure it is not my office network, I just tried accessing the link from my home and observed the same behavior.

Best regards
Arvind
• Have you tried accessing the link from outside of the TI network?

Best regards
Arvind
• Arvind:

Thanks for the follow-up. I am investigating further and will do further testing.

Yes, all of the KeyStone online training is tested externally to verify access and usability. I just reconfirmed that I am able to access and run all content for KeyStone SRIO. I am not able to recreate your problem using internal or external testing.

Please note that the time it takes to download flash/audio content varies from network to network. The fact that you were able to download the PDF tells me *some* content is loading to your machine. But it appears that the audio is NOT loading on your end.

Are able to successfully access other KeyStone training hosted on the same server?

For example: http://software-dl.ti.com/public/hpmp/KeyStone/01_CorePac_Perf/index.html

Please advise.

Best Regards,

Rob

• Arvind:

Is it possible that the network you are using may be blocking files with the extension .mp3? This is the format of the audio content, which appears to not be loading to your device.

While we work to resolve this issue, I've temporarily placed the SRIO training on the server for download (13.7 mb): software-dl.ti.com/.../11_SRIO.zip

NOTE: Unzip and open the 11_SRIO folder, then click on Index.html to open the training in your preferred browser. You will likely see some ActiveX control warnings (ignore them). But it should run smoothly once it is open.

Regards,

Rob
• Hi Rob,
Thanks for your reply. Looks like the problem is indeed with my office network. I tried using a 4G dongle today and the voice over presentations worked without any issues. As you mentioned, looks like this has something to do with the network speed. I am talking to my IT team to have the issue fixed.

One question though, is it possible to make all the Keystone training available as a downloadable archive or is it possible for me to download it? If that's possible, I would really be interested in storing the archive internally.

Best regards
Arvind
• Arvind:

Thanks for the update and confirmation that the audio blocking/delay was on the local network side. While I presume others have encountered this issue, it is the first time that it has been reported to us. I've learned more about customer access from the exchange.

With re: to downloadable versions of the training. This is something we have considered. One concern is that ongoing content updates do not get distributed to customers who rely on local, archived copies. We will examine further and see how best to meet this need.

Best Regards,

Rob
