    Team,

Customer experiencing the below issue with the quick start guide of the C6670 EVM.

    ================

I do have a question about the EVM unit now that I have started to look at it.  I was running through the Quick Start Guide (I know, I didn't get very far).  Step 4 says "Allow 40 seconds for the BIOS Out-Of-Box (OOB) Demo to complete Booting.  The demo acquires an IP address from server and displays it on console.  Copy the Network Added: Inf-1: IP address from HyperTerminal screen."  After 15 minutes of letting it run, HyperTerminal still states "IBL :  Booting from NOR".  Am I doing something wrong?  I have the switches set according to the Quick Start Guide (down, down, up, down) (down, up, up, up) (up, up, up, down) (up, up, up, up) (up, up, up, up).

Thanks for any help you can give me.  I believe this step not working is why CCS does not see the XDS560v2 when I try to connect to it.  I tried to skip this part when it didn't work.

    =================

    Any insight is appreciated,

    Aaron

      Aaron,

Can you ask them to try static IP instead of DHCP. We had some problems with DHCP in one of our older versions.

      Thanks,

      Arun.

I changed switch 2 on SW9 from on to off.  After 20 minutes I still receive "IBL: Booting from NOR".  A question: Does this eval board need to communicate with the internet?  Our firewall will prevent that.

      Hi Kristal,

For some reason I did not get the response once you added your POST. Anyways, can you explain what your switch setting in terms of ON OFF?

For OOB demo, you need to connect to your local PC through ethernet as we are running an webserver in the C6670. You don't need to be connected to Internet though.

      Thanks,

      Arun.

Also did you try the POST test. If not, try that.

      Thansk,

      Arun.

      Switch positions were at:

off off on off / off on on on / on on on off / on on on on / on off on on

and I still received the "IBL: Booting from NOR" for 20+ minutes.

I switched to POST according to the Quick Start Guide.  Below are the results.

      Hi Krystal,

There is a typo in QSG. The configuration should be

off off on off / on on on on / on on on off / on on on on

      Can you try this?

      Thanks,

      Arun.

I updated my switches and was able to run the demo.  Thank you.  Now to try to get Code Composer to run with it.  One question.  Will I need the ethernet connection to run my code in CCS on the eval unit?

      Hi,

I also followed the steps to install CCS5.0.3 and Mcdsk(selected the option MCSA1.0)

I also tried the procedure using JTAG to load the Application as described in BiosMCDSK_getting started guide.

It is halting at the same position and waiting for Ip.

      Gel startup is succesful.

      Hey guys,

      sorry to interrupt.

I just wonder, can we set the SW9 to DHCP mode if we connect it to a peer-to-peer connection with PC. How can we tell the the PC's NIC to give DHCP IP to the DSP? Or we have to connect to DHCP-enabled router to be able to use DHCP mode in the DSP?

      I'm using C6670 EVM btw.

      Thank you.

      Hi,

I am using C6670L EVM and I am trying to connect it using the Hyperterminal. Even after doing all the configuration and switch settings as specified in the C6670L quick start guide , still not possible to get any acknowledgement in the Hyperterminal console.Am I missing something?

      Thanks,

      Lohith
