Hello,
Does anyone know if the MPEG audio CODEC will be available for the 6678 chips? And if so, when they might be available?

Hi Ken,
Which specifically MPEG audio codec(s) are you looking for? We have some C674x audio codecs that could be used as-is on C66x. Below link:
http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/codecs/C674X_Audio_Codecs/01_00_001/index_FDS.html
Thank you,
Paula
Hi Paula,
We were looking for AAC-LC and AAC-LD for the 6678 in big-endian.
I am also interested in understanding whether there a re license restictions on these specific CODECs and whether the licensing is handled thorugh TI or some other entity.
Thanks! --Ken
Hi Ken,
Codecs under public distribution are in object form. In object form when you install and select "I agree" you have/accept TI license terms. In case you require source code you would need to contact a TI representative for a different license agreement. Please let me know if in your previous post you referred to a source code option, if so, I can forward this thread to the right person.
Thank you
Paula
Paula,
Has there been any action taken to test these old codecs with the new SDKs? The release notes for the mp3 codec, for example, are from 2011:
http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/codecs/C674X_Audio_Codecs/01_00_001/exports/MP3_Decoder_ReleaseNotes_01_41_00_00.pdf
The reason I ask is it seems like there could be risk associated with ensuring a customer that they can start developing with the new Code Composer 6 if the codec software hasn't been validated since Code Composer 4....
