Hello.
What is the difference between EVMK2H and EVMK2H"X" ?
My understanding is:
EVMK2H"X" is superset of EVMK2H. Is that right?
I would like to clarify if there are any restrictions to use EVMK2H"X".
Best regards, RY

Hi RY,
EVMK2HX - (EVMK2H Evaluation Module + XDS560V2 External Emulator)
The K2H EVM comes with XDS200 onboard emulation capability. In addition, an external emulator via JTAG emulation header can be also be used.
EVMK2HX features their embedded JTAG emulation with USB Host interface via XDS560V2

Thank you.
Hi RY,
I had doubt after above post then i checked with team. Sorry for providing the wrong information.
We don't have documentation on the difference between EVMK2H & EVKM2HX as it would only be 1 sentence. The only difference is that EVMK2HX has the DSP silicon where the encryption features is e-fused "ON". Everything else (PCB, other components, features etc) are the same.
Thank you.
Rex-san,
I am confusing.
My understanding is:
EVMK2H"X" .. 66AK2H12/06 is implemented.
EVMK2H .. TCI6636K2H is implemented. (Is it typo of TCI6636K2"K"?)
Is that correct?
I think EVMK2H"X" includes TCI6636K2K.
What do you think?
Best regards, RY
Hi, RY,
I am glad that you are thorough on this and bring us to somewhere we never pay attention to. Internally, we had some confusion as well. It turns out that the "X" means the Security Accelerator enabled. So, K2H does not have SA.
By the way, 6636 is a K2H (generic name not considering X or not) and 6638 is a K2K.
Rex
Hi RY,
From my understanding,
K2HEVM - 66AK2H12/66AK2H06 without SA
K2HEVMX - 66AK2H12/66AK2H06 with SA(e-fused "on")
XTCIEVMK2X .. TCI6636K2H/TCI6638K2K with SA(e-fused "on")
I am planning to write e-mail to EVM667xsupport@advantech.com to get this information. I will post back, if i get any response from them.
Thank you.
Raja-san,
I could clear my confusing.

Thank you very much!
I am waiting it.

Hi,
Our project target platform is based on TCI6638K2K .SoC. We need to buy an EVM for TCI6638K2K for software development till we get the custom board . we are not getting right information on the TCI6638K2K evm part number..
As the TCI6638K2K tools and software link leads to following option
TCI6636K2H Evaluation Module | TCIEVMK2X | Evaluation Modules & Boards |
that basically mean TCIEVMK2X has TCI6636K2H SoC and not TCI6638K2K, If that is true either there is no EVM for TCI6638K2K. or the evm part number for TCI6638K2K.SoC is different. /the TCIEVMK2X part no has two variants one with TCI6636K2H. and other for TCI6638K2K (may be custom made for few customers)
Please clarify what SoC does TCIEVMK2X evm has TCI6638K2K (http://www.ti.com/product/TCI6638K2K/ ) or TCI6636K2H (http://www.ti.com/product/tci6636k2h?keyMatch=TCI6636K2H&tisearch=Search-EN-Everything ) ?
Regards
Rohit
Hi Rohit,
My understanding is follows,
TCIEVMK2X is mounted with tci6638k2k which is super set of tci6634k2k, tci6636k2h, 66ak2h12 and 66ak2h06.
EVMK2HX(with SA enabled) / EVMK2H(without SA enabled) is mounted with 66ak2h12 which is super set of 66ak2h06

I have confirmed this by checking the BoM of EVMs. I recommend you to check with advantech before placing the order.
Thank you.
