I am doing some basic performance testing on the EVM6670LE platform. I've got a small app that allows commands to be issued through the UART and can run the whetstone test. I've attached the project for reference. In the current configuration with optimization level 3. With these settings, running on a single core, the whetstone test reports the following:
Loops: 100000, Iterations: 1, Duration: 45 sec. C Converted Double Precision Whetstones: 222.2 MIPS
Questions:
1. Is this a valid test?
2. Is this number reasonable?
3. Is there a better benchmark with freely available source code?
