Hi,
I'm working with the JPEG 2k encoder testbench given by TI. With my
understanding, the testbench runs on single core. May I please know a simple
way to extend it to all the eight cores?

Hi,
Currently C66x JPEG encoder is a single-core codec, and it does not support mulit-core encoding.

Thanks,
Hi you can check Jpeg2K multicore in MCSDK video PCIe demo

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
We cannot encode single image on single core. However, we might be able to
schedule the encoding of successive images (frames) to next available core.
May I please know how to do the same?
Kindly point me to right documents and sources.

Bharath
Bharath, what is your use case?
No sure if I am understanding your question. Current Jpeg2k encoder pcie demo encodes one frame per core and the scheduler dispatch frames to avaible cores. In the host side output encoded frames are re-ordered
You can check Jpeg 2k encoder datasheet for more cycles information (different resolutions and configurations shown):

Hello,
Sorry for not being clear with my words.
We are not working with PCIE based demo. I'm trying J2K testbench on multicores.
Currently I'm thinking of making core 0 as master core, create few variables in MSMCRAM and signal
other cores with these variables. I hope GateMP module should help me with the same.
Kindly suggest if there is any simpler solution.

Bharath
Bharath, just a quick clarification current J2K encoder doesnt support multicore encoding for a single image.
thank you,
Paula
